  • What is City Basketball?

    City Basketball 2010 is a half-court, 3 v 3 basketball tournament, in the heart of the city, spread over 3 days.

    The aim is to raise money for XLP a London based youth charity.

  • When and where is it taking place?

    City Basketball is taking place from August 2nd to August 4th 2010, in the Broadgate Circle

  • How much is it to enter?

    Each team is expected to raise £1200.

    To make it easier to collect the money, why not consider setting up a Just Giving account. It's free to set up and you can select XLP as the charity to receive the money directly.

  • Who can enter?

    Currently, entry is by invitation only.

    Teams will consist of up to five members (male only)

  • What is the format of the matches?

    There will be eight mini-leagues, each with three teams. Each team will play all others in their league. The top two teams from each league will then enter the knockout stages. Download (pdf) Tournament Diagram for details.

    Each match is 7 minutes in duration.

    At any one time 3 members of a team are on court.

  • What will the court be like?

    The court surface will consist of a hard rubber matting.

    In case of rain, the court will be covered.

    Fitness First - Broadgate has kindly agreed to let us use their changing facilities.

    Shorts, t-shirts and trainers. Simple.

    XLP has been serving young people in inner-city London since 1996, through schools, community and arts projects, and is now at the cutting edge of urban youth work.
